PRESS RELEASE: 21 March 2011
Team Permashine Take it to the next level
Team
Permashine was happy to announce that the team will be
competing in the BTRDA Asphault Championship, which is
being covered on TV by Special Stage and is shown on Motors
TV.
The first round of the BTRDA was the Tour of Epynt 2011,
As the Team had only competed on Epynt once before the
pair was seeded at car 86 out of 90.
Being their first rally and relying on their own pace
notes, the main aim of the weekend was to learn more about
developing this new discipline over the very fast Epynt
Ranges.
The Team Andrew Hicks and Richard Bliss started well
and after the first two stages found themselves 62nd overall
and 9th in class.
As the day went on the team progressed getting faster
and also working very well together. The team ended the
day in 56th overall and 7th in class. A good result as
it was their second time on Epynt and first time writing
their own pace notes.
Andrew commented:” It has been a good weekend myself
and Richard have learnt a lot as a team and also really
enjoyed the first round of the BTRDA.”
The crew would like to thank sponsors Permashine, PIAA,
Bliss Mobility and National Mobile Windscreens.
The Tour of Epynt 2011 will be on Motors TV,on Special
Stage Saturday 9th April at 22:35
PRESS RELEASE: 7th December 2010
A change for Team Permashine
Andrew and Richard have spent the last 2 months building
a Honda civic rally car,
So before the start of the new season the team wanted
to put the new permashine rally car to the test and see
how it held out in competition.
The pair put an entry in for the Rockingham stages on
the 4th/5th Dec 2010.
They were not expecting much as this was to be a shakedown,
before the teams first event in 2011 at The K & R
stages at brean leasure park
The team was seeded 55th out 100 cars, it had snowed
a couple of days before the event but as it was so cold
the snow stayed for the weekend, this was going to make
things difficult for Andrew as he had not driven the car
before and tere was snow everywere.
The team started of slowly they thought, as the conditions
were so bad the pair were on forest tyres for first two
stages.
They found out they was not going that slow, lying in
the top 20, Stage 5 was a night stage with the help from
PIAA uk, new headlight bulbs and using the PIAA light
pod helped alot moving the team up 2 overall positions,
by the end of day 1 the team were lying 18th overall and
4th in class.
When day 2 started the pair had deicded to push for a
class position and really start to work the new car. Push
they did with only 2 stages to go they found them selves
lying 16th overall and battling for 2nd in class, with
the nearest rival 4 seconds behind Andrew uped his game
and made the gap 7 seconds going in to the last stage.
The pair managed to keep hold of the second place in
class with a gap of 4 seconds, finishing 16th overall
and 2nd in class an excellent result for the team and
new car.
Andrew and Richard would like to thank National Mobile
Windscreen for Fitting the windows in the car at such
late notice and doing an excellent job, also would liketo
thank everyone else who helped including The Team sponsors
Permashine, National Mobile Windscreen, PIAA uk, Bliss
Mobility Services
